If they refuse to evacuate...don't bother looking for them!

People living in hurricane areas; who are of sound mind and good physical health; who are given the opportunity to evacuate and fail to do so when ordered (I'm not refering to the poor, elderly or infirmed who can't get out on their own) are just plain selfish! Rescuers shouldn't risk their lives nor the resources of the city to save these people who knowingly choose to stay behind.

I absolutely agree with you. The real disaster was people not heeding the warning resulting in horrendous living conditions that they could of avoided if they had made the right choice that hundreds of others did. People have to make smart choices. If free tickets to a concert or football game out of town were offered, those same people would have found a way to get there.

I agree with this one, people are stupid enough to stay, leave them there. Why should innocent professionals then have to risk their lives to save them? the problem is, they KNOW they will try!

This is the same as mounting rescues of expeditioneers in remote places because they wanted to defy nature or set a personal or world record. Hey, you wanna climb Mount Everest in the dead of winter? Adios-- God Bless -- Don't call us if you're starving, freezing, or disabled-- you're the one trying to prove something-- why should we risk our lives or waste our resources trying to save you from your egotistical attempt?
