I worked in La Jolla for a year, and I never figured out why every store/restaurant/business had the _narrowest_ parking spaces I've ever seen. The few weeks that I rented an SUV it was impossible to park anywhere, wasn't even worth driving. Even small sedans were hard to park.

Take it as a cue that the city would like smaller more efficient cars to be used. I visited San Diego just a couple weeks ago and visited the La Jolla area and really enjoyed it. Those tide pools are interesting and that Cave is a rip off.

Parking spaces are small because land is expensive, especially in La Jolla, and spaces are seldom bigger than the City's minimum standard. More smaller spaces seems to be better than fewer bigger spaces and then they'll have fewer of those SUV's and small sedans cluttering up the traffic.

Ok Rnny, if there are fewer SUVs & small sedans cluttering up traffic, what's left? Is anybody left driving? I guess the roads are empty since you just wiped out 2 huge categories of vehicles.
