I just bought a 2006 X3 with 30K miles. Had no idea about the Run Flat tires, until I hit something on freeway and the rear wheel blew. I pulled over and couldn't believe the damage, a 2" hole on the side of the tire, and the rim is mangled. Whatever I hit wasn't that big a deal, I barely felt it. Finally got car to dealer today after 2 separate tows. They just told me $1400 to replace wheel and tire. I bought car 2 weeks ago and before my 1st payment comes due I'm spending $1400. I drove my old Jeep Cherokee 100K miles and never had a blowout. These tires are absolute crap. I'm going to replace them as soon as possible. I wish I knew about this blog before buying that car.
