It's 11 pm Sunday night. I run to the grocery store to get some milk and think that I'll be home soon. I grab the milk and come up to the express lane to check out since I have ONE item and guess who's in front of me. A lady and her cart full of food to feed about a dozen people checking out. Clearly she couldn't read the sign that said "express lane, 12 items or less"!!! After the cashier rings her up, of course she has to pull out about 20 little coupons to save a whopping total of 3 bucks. These people should be shot as they exit the store!

I've been in a not-too-busy grocery store, standing in normal line with cart full of groceries. Beside me, the express clerk says something like "I can take you here". I tell her I have a lot of stuff, she says its ok. About half way through unload, some guy with a few items (ballons, enama kit, and other random things) gets in express lane, and makes it sound like *I'm* the jerk.
The cashier plays dumb. Now I got this freak behind me, staring a hole through me, cause he's in a hurry to go home and get his freak on.
Basically, the express lane clerk is wholly responsibly for whoever they let go through thier line.

Wait till you have kids, have to pay the bills and save for college. Oh, and by the way, take an anger management class - wishing someone dead over such small potatoes is a real call for help.

I have the same issue as well when I go shopping. I make a conscious effort to count my items to make sure I don't go over the limit.

Why didn't the cashier inform the lady that this was the express lane??? Some people are really dumb and think they are above the rules.

As a cashier, I have to agree with this. I don't mind if they have a couple coupons but for that much and then I really hate it when they stand there after you give them their reciet and hold up the line as they look through EVERY LITTLE ITEM to make sure 30 whole cents was taken off of their Kleenex. And then they yell at me because the computer didn't register it right and they demand I take it off. I can't! They have to go to the damned office! Half of those coupons are usually expired anyway. Yes, it is annoying, especially in the express lane.

Of course; when you earn the kind of money I do....there is a simple solution....the $1.00 TIP lane. Put the top cashier each week on the TIP lane, and let the people who give her a Dollar, whiz through the lane. Everybody WINS ! ! !
