iPod Trouble    Back to the homepage
Okay, so I was playing the role of the nice brother to my older sister by driving up with my parents and helping her move up to San Francisco from Los Angeles on 4th of July weekend. I made sure that my parents and sister knew that I wanted to be in LA partying with my friends celebrating our love for this awesome country by drinking some American beer such as Keystone Light (High Class college beer) and whiskey! The next day I went to turn on my iPod and a picture of a file showed up. I talked to one of my friends and they said it was no big deal and that I should just hook it up to my computer when I got home. So on the 5-hour dive home I couldnÕt listen to my iPod and all my favorite songs. Instead I had to sit though the excruciating pain of listening to Jamie Lawrence and Jim Brickman belch out their horrible songs on my dadÕs iPod. I got home finally and went to my computer to try to fix my iPod and as my luck would have it, it failed. The next morning my iPod wouldnÕt even turn on and even worse my warranty expired in May, so once again IÕm out of luck.

Bones (7/22): but there is a simple trick to restart your ipod and fix the problem. Hold down the menu and play buttons together for 10 seconds until the ipod restarts. Its worked everytime for me. Make sure you press the buttons and hold them at the same time. (report)
Anonymous (7/23): iPods have been nothing but trouble for me too (report)
tinkypants (8/10): This happened to me to, over and over, no matter how many resets I did. The Apple store told me that older iPod's had a problem with this and that basically my iPod was useless. I was so pissed and they wouldn't offer any credit toward a new one. Mine was maybe 3 years old. So, they got yet another sale when I broke down and bought a new mini. Works great but the iTrip feature sucks. (report)
DragonBear (8/25): Get over yourself! You couldn't fix it because you're too busy whining! Either that or you've just burned out too many brain cells with all that drinking! (report)
mallory (9/7): All that you need to do is go to www.apple.com/supprt/ipod and update your software. It takes a while and you lose all your music but it is better than losing your money on it. Hope this helps. (report)
