We don't need an earthquake... we need a plague

Because of housing prices people joke that we need an earthquake so that people will be scared and leave the state. Wrong! An earthquake simply reduces supply. A plague would reduce demand. Since no one really wishes either disaster I wanted to at least introduce some logic.
