The Great Word Race - A Great Game for Young Readers    Back to the homepage
Views: 754 Report
I saw The Great Word Race today, and I must say that it seems like a fantastic game for young readers. The pitfall with most letter or word-based games is that they're either aimed at preschoolers who are still learning letter-recognition, or older children. The beauty of The Great Word Race is its' suitability for a variety of ages and skill levels. Words of any length up to 6 letters can be made and, for example, if children of differing ages are playing the rules can be adjusted to make the game fairer. There are 6 lettered dice in The Great Word Race, which children roll then make up words from the letters shown. The more letters they use, the faster they'll make it to the finish line. Perhaps the best thing about The Great Word race is that because it's a lot of fun, it doesn't seem educational at all!
