Your right Barry, we are a bunch of complaining idiots. Hell, a third of the population can't even spell their names right, never mind vote. Only about 50% could read the polling instructions, and 25% of them do not even know where to go to vote. These people expect the rest of America to make the right decision for them, and are to busy watching the Simpsons, then listening to the views of the politicians. Yet they can complain their asses off while they sit at the bar and get drunk, complaining about how the people who actually voted did. Your absoutley right Barry!

I agree and carry it a step farther. One should ctually read the voter's pamphlet that comes in the mail. Read for content. Find out everything you can about the people running for office. It seems that Names that are in the media more the twice get remembered and folks think they KNOW the person. Then vote for them.
Also, we seem to think that politics isn't for polite conversation. I say if a conversation is worthy of actual intellectual excercise it should be about politics! Especially these days and, more I fear, in the foreseeable future.
