18" Wheels with Run Flat Tires 0n 2006 530i

I own a 06 530i with 18" rims and run Flat Tires. I have over 36,000 miles on the original set of tires. My problem is not the tires but with the 18" Wheels. I cracked a wheel last NOv and hada to replace both the wheel and tire at a cost of $900. On April 11, I brought my car in as I thought I needed tires and was told that I have 2 more cracked wheels. My tire person says that since the Run Flat Tires are low profile, the wheels not the tires take 100% of the force even if you go over a speed bump causing the wheels to crack where they meet the rubber of the tire. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
