I stopped for a red light and was then greeted by two cars who had been racing, one to the right of me the other behind me. We had just turned the corner when I notice a police officer had another car pulled over along the side of a road. I began to slow down quickly. The guy who had been racing his buddy began slowing down along side me; and the other guy swerved out of my lane unable to slow down quick enough. The office then ran out in the middle of the street motioned for us to slow down and points to me and tells me to pull over. I was going the speed limit if not less when I noticed this biker cop. As he began writing me up a ticket I asked, "Officer, may I ask you a question?" I then asked him how is it that he wrote me up going 25 miles over the speed limit, which was 40 mph. He then became hostile and said he had it on a laser, which he placed a ways down the road. I asked to see it and he then became even more hostile. He threatened me saying, "It would not look good to the court if I had to show you how fast you were going." I was punked out of seeing my speed and will be going to court later this month. Anyone have legal advice?

Don't speed! And if there is a "next time" don't let the policeman intimidate you. It's your right to see his lazer. I think it is so unfair when adults try to intimidate others because of power and age. They certainly aren't setting a very good example...then they wonder why they don't get the respect that they deserve!

I would've kept asking to see the speed read out. This happened to me in the burbs (because the cops have nothing better to do) and I should've asked for it as I know I wasn't going as fast as the cop said I was (considering I was driving up to a red light.
