Has anyone read this book yet? It is hilarious - it's based on a real town on Long Island called Manhasset, where I have spent a ton of time. It's all very real and the importance of bars to that town is not overstated. It is also a great coming of age story. Great read.

Thanks for bringing it up. Being a former Long Islander I like to read stuff about the old stomping grounds. I will read it and let you know.

I final read it. i agree. it is the song / book of a generation .. instead of mtv and mall hangouts - JR spent a lifetime in that bar. I was there with him, i felt the hangovers, the binge, the loss of love, the regret, the reward, the definition of life
