Do you have a high pressure job? Are you stressed out about finances, the children, etc? These things cause major stress and stress can cost you a lot of money. If you are stressed out, you can’t focus at work and miss time and deadlines. You may have to visit your doctor to be put on medication to relieve the stress. Your medical and prescription bills rise and you have missed work due to being out to visit the doctor. Stress and worry can cost you and your health as well, as the hormones in a stresses body rise. This can sometimes cause a gain in weight. The weight gain can lead to stroke, heart disease and diabetes. There are things you can do to reduce your stress without calling the doctor and being put on medication. If you drink a lot of coffee, cut back or drink decaf. Caffeine only adds to your stress. Take a little break. Take your lunch break outside. Try taking a short walk. This is a nice time of year, as it is cooler outside. Walk for about ten minutes and clear your mind. If you are not able to do this at work, wait until you get home and lay down on the couch for a few minutes, breathing deeply. If you don’t want stress to cost you, make a little time for yourself. You will benefit in the long run, both financially and physically.
