I just saw this movie and I don't get why everyone is raving about it. I thought it was alright but the main guy is such a downer I started to actually root against him.

SF Taxi drivers are so reckless. I am tired of them driving through my neighborhood doing one of two things: all throttle or all brakes. It is not uncommon to see one going 40+ mph in a 25 mph residential neighborhood - and where are the police for this kind of stuff?

Agree 100%...the movie sucked. However, I read the book first and it was great. It was very different from the movie and had a lot more/better character development. I realize it's tough to read a book after a movie, but it may be worth a shot.
