Has anyone visited Shainghai and/or Hong Kong?

My company is looking to sponsor a customer trip to China and I am wondering what people's experience has been? I am sure it would be an interesting place to visit, but I would be happy to lean pros and cons from travelling veterans.

I have very little experience- with only a quick stop over in Hong Kong-but I loved it. The weather was hot and we took a very interesting tour on a boat. It's a great contrast to see the old Chinese boats with people living on them, sitting right below the tall new buildings. There is an evening marketplace, filling several city blocks that is great. And we spent some time checking out the fascinating Chinese antique shops. Hong Kong is more beautiful, larger, and more modern than I expected. I would love to see Shainghai.

A really good friend of mine lives in Shanghai and says great things. He said it makes Tokyo look small and tame.

I have been to Shanghai and found it to be a very modern cosmpolitan city with plenty to. do. I always felt safe even to walking down dark alleys with my 14 year old grandaughter at night looking for an non-touristy restuarant. I was very impressed with the flower boxes that lined all the freeways.

I might also say that I highly recommend taking Singapore airlines. The airplanes and service are top notch. And it may not be politically correct, but the sweet, beautiful, and attentive asian flight attendents made a long flight more enjoyable.

Not too much "culture" per se in Hong Kong, but legendary shopping. Shaingai is like Manhattan on steroids - so fabulous and stimulating. I think you would love it. Warm people too and very clean place. Modern beyond belief!
