Want to save on holiday travel? Over the last year the price of airline tickets has risen by 7%. Booking your airline tickets can be a tricky business, no matter how you look at it. You log online, check certain dates, say ouch at the high price and search different dates trying to save on holiday travel. This year Christmas falls on a Tuesday, so people will be looking to book their outbound flights as early as the Friday or Saturday before Christmas. So, if you try to book your departure on those days, you will pay a higher fare. Try looking at December 19th or 20th as departure dates. You can save as much as $90 per ticket that way. I also did a search on the top travel sites and found that leaving Christmas day would save some money also. If you cant leave earlier and cant leave on Christmas day, you will have to check your options, but if you can be a little more flexible with your dates you will definitely save on holiday travel.
