If you're looking for a little R&R with your significant other, definitely check this place out. Soo relaxing and nice. Food at the hotel isn't great, but the private beach, pool and surroundings were wonderful. http://www.costasmeraldaholidays.com/hotel_pitrizza.htm

Yes, I was in the south near Cagliari -- it's beautiful. Another great off-the-path destination is Sicily. Towns like Taormina and Casalmoro are beautiful.
