San Francisco meter parking is up to $1.50 an hour. Down where I work an hour's worth of parking costs a quarter. I don't park at meteres that much in SF so it's not the amount that bothers me, it's the fact i have to keep $10 in change in my car. If the city is going to charge that much they should have meters that allow credit cards.

Why do we have to pay in the first place. Don't taxes cover this? I understand that parking meters help create turnover giving more people the chance to find parking in retail areas, but charging $1.50 is crazy and just a pain for everyone.
