BMW Run Flat Tires are a scam    Back to the homepage
Views: 740 Report
I bought a BMW 135i Cabriolet in Nov 2009, with standard 17" RFT. I had a nail the first week! I was told I have to buy a new tire at $350! After 5 months and 3,800, being VERY careful to avoid bad roads and potholes, I have a bulge on an essentially new rear tire (no mark at all on the rim), and BMW says they (or Goodyear) will not acknowledge the possibility that they make defective tires, and I AGAIN have to buy a brand new tire at $350!! This is a scam, that everyone involves escapes responsibility on and passes the buck on. This whole RFT issue is a mess and not good for the consumer at all!

Anonymous (11/23): Same thing happened to me with my 335 coupe. Had to replace one due to a "nail" a while back. Today I was told that another one has a "bulge." Car only has about 22K miles and it's not like I go racing over potholes. (report)
