I have owned my 645 ci for 3 years and bought it brand new with special 19 inch wheels and RFT. I now have 37K miles and have had 4 flats with 3 wheel replacements. I have owned >30 autos in my life and never had tires and wheels like these. The product is defective. Even if I hit a pot hole (the most common reason given) I should be able to "Run Flat" and not have needed three new wheels ($500 + $500 per set). The service manager has told me that flats with the RFT are legion and knows of one women who had all 4 flat + wheels within 1 week ------- Twice! I drive my car with respect and expect a luxury car of this caliber to take better care of its customers. Something is wrong with the product and I suspect BMW knows and is not taking responsibility for an outragious product fraud.

RunFlats Blow Hard!Three tires and two rims in 25k miles. I have never had such problems with standard tires. The advantages are overblown and are being sold to the GP by the auto industry and/or safety advocates primarily on the basis that you don't have to change a tire (BIG DEAL) and you can drive 50 to 100 miles on a flat (SO WHAT. I have changed, patched and/or repaired car tires, truck tires, tractor tires, bicycle tires, motocycle tires for years and the occasional problem with a standard tire does not out wiegh the huge increase in cost and pain in the rear that the so called run flats offer. Give my ballon tires PLEASE!!!or at least the option of having them. Run Flats SUCK!
