The Porsche Boxter has been on Car and Driver’s top ten list for twelve years and has become so recognized that car enthusiasts often feel like the Porsche Boxter has been around as long as the Porsche 356. The car is very expensive—its base price is more than forty six thousand dollars and it can run as much as sixty thousand dollars—but Porsche fans insist that the car is more than worth those prices.
The Porsche Boxter can either be a two door roadster or a three door hatchback and only seats two passengers. It has a mid engine and rear wheel drive. The engine of the Porsche Boxter is a DOHC twenty four valve, two point seven liter flat-six with two hundred and forty five horsepower and two hundred and one lb-ft of torque. Drivers can also choose a Porsche Boxter with a DOHC twenty four valve, 3.4 liter flat-six engine that has two hundred and ninety five horsepower with two hundred and fifty one lb-ft of torque.
The Porsche Boxter comes with either a five or six speed manual transmission or a five speed automatic transmission with manumatic shifting. It gets between eighteen to twenty two miles per gallon when driving in the city.
