Poinsettias, the Christmas Killer?    Back to the homepage
Views: 902 Report
Thank you Parenting for being a voice of reason in a world so chock full of caution signs for parents I dont' know whether Ronald McDonald is out to snatch my child or give him a French fry- these days is that a crime of equal horror? For years now we've heard about poison Christmas plants and the urban legends surrounding them. If your child eats Holly he'll die. If he eats a Poinsettia forget it, it's all over. You keep Mistletoe at your house? You horrible person. Now Parenting has explored the truth about poison Christmas plants and printed the results. How poison are the poison Christmas plants like Holly, Mistletoe and Poinsettia? Turns out not very. Oh of course you shouldn't eat these poison Christmas plants but it turns out that if you eat just a little bit (the amount a toddler may be able to shove in their mouth before you can run across the room screaming no) then you will get sick, like diarrhea and throwing up, but you likely won't die from ingesting these poison Christmas plants. Thanks Parenting for setting my mind at ease over decorating my house with Poinsettias.
