People Opening Car Doors    Back to the homepage
Views: 1367 Report
I can't stand when you're driving around and someone just opens their car door without even looking or without giving consideration to oncoming traffic. Over the past few weeks, I've almost taken off 4-5 car doors. So what I do now is lay on my horn, you should see those people jump! If this doesn't help fix the problem, I'm going to get a big rail-road tie and put it on my truck as a bumper and just take those car doors off.

bundleone (10/30): what about if the door is already open and a person is strapping a child in and the another car clips it? (report)

ronc99 (10/2): I agree with man. It also pains me to see people on the highway that are too stupid to move over when someone is stopped on the side of the road. It is a ticketable offence to not move over if a cop is stopped on the highway. All it takes is a second to take someones life. You see it on cop shows all the time, police getting hit, smashing right into the cars too. Unbelievable. (report)
cstraw (10/2): Totally agree. My new favorite is the guy on the phone driving 65 in the fast lane. Move OVER! (report)
Anonymous (10/2): i TOTALLY agree! Seems like lately I always have to swerve to avoid people who are totally oblivious to people driving down the street. They DESERVE to have their doors taken off!! I always take the extra second to see if anyone is coming before I throw my door into traffic. It's actually.... not that difficult. (report)
linyutang (10/12): It's also an offence in most places to unsafely open your car door. I found this out while driving a cab back in the 70s. I took the door off a car right out of the driver's hand. The whole left front quarter of his car was demolished and his windshield smashed. When I learned it was his fault, I found it all very satisfying in a strange way. I'm willing to bet he looks twice now before opening his door. (report)
