Hi guys , I been in the Search engine optimisation for around 10 years so I seen the good the bad and the ugly of how sites promote.
Most of the search engines change their indexing ruls every 6 months. After so many years in the industry I can manage to get a site listed in google, MSN, Yahoo in 3-5 days starting from nothing and depanding what the customer wants to sell or promote on the website I can rank them in the first 20 searches in 10 days to 2-3 months.The hardest part is to keep them there once the competition sees your website :(.
How to get a better page rank ... there is a lot of documentation on the net, ... it is all keywords play and website design and content.Search engines got smarter and are harder to trick so don't try tp trick them just improve your page content, and update the pages often.
Don't forget I said how to get a better page rank not a first 10 listing in Google.If you need more help email me dust_99_98@yahoo.com.au . And have a look in google for the term "used honda" www.vonbibra.com.au should be in the 6-8 th place depending on the day.

Know where your coming from, I have a site in a small town and it is the only one that is updated daily. Sites that have not been active for a year rate higher, engines are definetly flawed. Also I submitted 4 community sites to dmoz, none were listed....search engines suck in how they rate sites.

I agree. I have had my site for 3 years. I do paid and free submission and on most search sites I'm not even in the first 200 listings.
