Voluntarily or involuntarily, many NCAA coaches heads are rolling as teams look to upgrade their football programs. Texas A&M, Arkansas, Michigan, Washington State, UCLA, and Mississippi to name a few.
The casulties of the NCAA Football Coaches carousel will be shuffled to other programs, some may retire, others may sit out a year and recharge their batteries. The message is clear however, losing will not be tolerated for very long.
Up and coming coaches have to sit through press conference after press conference denying their interest, leaving the door open, and trying to walk along a very narrow fence so they don’t wind up as the next Nick Saben.
Some would say with the amount of the salaries these coaches make they deserve the pressure or at least deserve to bear it. Coaching has become about politics, or at least head coaching has.
With all of the NCAA Football Coaches heads rolling I would rather be an assistant coach, perhaps a defensive coordinator. Keep you head down coordinators and enjoy your role, as the NCAA Football Coaches are sweating footballs and not sleeping, you can enjoy your life at least some of the time.
