Chances are you have a Myspace or a Facebook page, right? In fact, most of you probably have both, and maybe even a few others while you're at it. Social networking is a big thing on the internet, and it seems as though each site is replaced by something new almost as quickly as it appeared. Right now, Facebook seems to be doing pretty well, but who knows for how long? One thing is pretty certain in my opinion though – whatever happens, Myspace is here to stay. Why? Two words: Myspace Music.
Myspace Music is the reason that so many people have heard of Myspace, and of social networking websites in general. It's a revolutionary new way to spread your music, your name and your image to like minded people across the globe – and what's more, after the success of the Arctic Monkeys, the record companies love it. It lets them hear demos without wasting time and precious desk space on CDs, but more importantly: as far as they're concerned, Myspace Music is The Next Big Thing, and they want to be in on it. The fact that it's really easy to use a Myspace profile editor to customise your Myspace adds to the appeal, particularly for the creative types – it's almost as good as having your own tailor-made website, and a lot easier.
Facebook can't compete with that, and other attempts to copy it have flopped: Myspace Music is the reason Myspace still reigns supreme.
