I just learned about a way to STOP telemarketer phone calls to your home as well as your cell phone. It's really easy, and if after registering you get a telemarketer call, you can report them and they will be fined! The FCC established a national DO-NOT-CALL Registry. All you have to do is go online to www.donotcall.gov and follow their instructions! This is not a hoax, I learned about this through my T-Mobile bill.

This is absolutely correct. I signed up for this several years ago. I rarely get a telemarketing call now. If I do, I tell them I'm on the do-not-call list, and they back off immediately. Everyone who's bothered by telemarketers should do this!

In the UK we have a similar service called the Telephone Preference Service. It really rocks, now the only company we get unwanted sales calls from is our telephone service provider :-(
