CNN Meteorologist Chad Meyers Gets it Wrong on Hurricane Ike    Back to the homepage
Views: 1544 Report
I watched extensive coverage of Hurricane Ike on CNN and was overall impressed with the coverage except for Meteorologist Chad Meyers. Chad was arrogant, insensitive, and downright wrong on the storm surge. Most of the time it seemed like he was routing for the hurricane to wipe out the island and was overly confident about what he expected to happen. He was flat out wrong. Storm surge was 13 feet, not 20-25 feet that he arrogantly hoped for. Does anyone else agree?

Anonymous (9/14): He seemed to make the rest of the reporters uncomfortable (report)
Anonymous (9/26): Meteorology is an imperfect science. Plus its better to expect the worst case scenario, rather then tell people its ganna have 13 ft of storm surge and then it turns out there's really 20 feet. (report)
