Loneliness - There is nothing worse than feeling Lonely

We've all had our lonely spells in our lives, I had mine after moving from city to city several years ago. When you feel it you suddenly realize that so many other people do as well and when you don't you totally forget about the problem. I would love to committ my life long focus to helping those that are lonely. It seems like there is no worse feeling than loneliness. So many people are divorced, or working long hours, or trveling all the time, or lost contact with their families, or just insecure for various reasons. How do we help these people. Please share ideas and stories.
