this is the coolest new beta tool from google I've seen. This site shows you in realtime where all the yellow cabs in San Francisco are. Click refresh and watch the cabs move form intersection to intersection. All based on GPS.

(6/8):
Pretty cool...to build on this, Yellow Cab is the best cab to call because they use both GPS and RFID (radio frequency identification) to locate the nearest cab to your call (i.e. more efficient than DeSoto where the dispatcher puts out a call on the radio and an interested driver will make the pick up). The challenge is the drivers from Yellow don't always follow, nor do they have to, the computer dispatch instructions.
On the other hand, DeSoto uses a database that tracks your phone number and the frequency of your calls (i.e. CRM), so the more you call the better customer service you get, also if you call and "no show" that gets logged too, so beware.
