What I Know For Sure    Back to the homepage

I've been around for what feels like a long time...33 years. Here's what I know for sure: life can pretty much suck if you don't find someone or something to love and love you back. If you haven't found that yet, you better do it, or you'll never make it. Everyone needs something/someone to get and keep them up in the morning, something that makes them realize life is worth living. We all need something to come home to on a daily basis. You don't have that yet? You don't have a spouse, a kid, a significant other? Get a dog or a cat or even a hamster...

Anonymous (7/20): I think this is very true. Happiness comes from being with people you enjoy. (report)
Anonymous (7/26): Poodles Rock! I've had 4 fantastic toy poodles that gave me all the love a human could ever want. All they ask for was food, water and affection. After they all passed on I waited 2 years and just had to get another, name is Ruby, she is a doll..life is good again! Note: you must treat these dogs with love and affection, keep them safe and treat them as you would want to be treated, they will give you 12-15 years of comfort and enjoyment. (report)
guitarjunky (9/24): Mutts rock too. About six years ago I came home from work to find a black puppy (Chow/Lab mix) in a basket (my daughter's Valentines day gift from a boyfriend who subsequently got the boot.) Best gift I ever got! Over the years he's become my shadow; we're practically joined at the hip. No matter how bad a day I've had, when I come through the door at night the sight of him charging "full speed ahead" from the back of the house and taking a flying leap across the kitchen to get to me always makes me smile. One night my wife asked me, "don't you wish I liked you as much as the dog does?" Ask a dumb question... (report)
vanescafe (7/19): This is sort of depressing since I don't have this right now. Damn break ups! But I'm still young. One day I'll find it, the rainbow connection, the lovers, the dreamers, and me! (report)
Franbay (3/18): Life is a wonderful gift and there is nothing better then being able to share it with someone you care about.Being alone is nice at times and we all need our own space but being lonely does suck but you could be in a crowd and still be lonely. I agree you need to love yourself first but it is so much better when you share that love with someone special. (report)

jerry_sizzzler (7/20): If the only way you can make life not suck is through another person you're bound to be disappointed. You need to be happy with yourself first before you can find lasting happiness with someone else. (report)

Anonymous (3/16): I agree with js. If you're not happy with yourself you'll never be truly happy. And I'll add what me ole da' tole me onct'. He said you can never truly love someone else until you learn to love yourself. BTW...love yourself is the eleventh commandment which came, not from Moses, but from Jesus himself. heheh...that's true but I just threw that last reference in to be an imp. (on account o' becuz o' yer other post <eg>) (report)
Anonymous (3/28): My hamster died... (report)
