Montresor
(5/7):
They should put more restraints on who drives a car. More people will die this year due to idiots in cars than firearms crimes. An Suv is more of a weapon of mass destruction than most handguns. You must be totally oblivious! The loss of life at the Virginia Tech campus would have been minimized or maybe even avoided had other students or faculty had the right to carry a firearm to defend themselves. The creep knew that he could walk unscathed through a defenseless mass of students and kill anyone he wished. If he had thought for a moment that the first time he fired his weapon he would have been met with return fire he may have gone elsewhere (like maybe an anti-gun convention or your house)Do you really think that if the law prevented fruit loops like this guy from buying a weapon, he wouldn't have been able to buy it illegally? He could have bought anything he wanted including automatic assault weapons.
Do you know what the first order of business for a tyrant like Saadam,Hitler or Mussolini might be? Outlaw weapons. The serial and mass murderers, thieves, rapists, burglars and terrorists of this country would bend down and kiss your rectal aperture if they thought that you could get firearms banned. It would make their lifestyle so much easier. I think what really needs to be done is that anti-gunners need to have their ability to procreate curbed. Their would be a distinct rise int he intelligence level of the gene pool.

(5/4):
Well, I share your opinion of the NRA. However, since our constitution gives us the right to keep and bear arms, the degree to which they are "inimical" to our interest is too much in debate to outlaw them. Our governments put more restraints on a person's ability to drive a car than they put on a person's ability to own an extremely dangerous weapon. The NRA must be confronted and their power in Washington must be curbed.

And just where do all these illegal weapons come from? If every weapon were truly traced from the moment it is manufactured, it would not be so easy to circumvent laws to buy one. It is the angry macho element in our society, like Montresor here, who love the violence and destruction inherent in their beloved power symbols. Their anger and their love of weaponry are just as connected as that of the murdurers who act out their fantasies for them.

(8/22):
Americans are so afraid of everybody, (you're the ones with the WoMD and bomb everyone from a different culture!) yeah, you've had terrorist attacks but so has Britan and loads of other places but you dont see them resorting to personal rifles becausse they realise that fear breeds hate, hate breeds violence, violence breeds fear- it's a vicious cycle.
