I am directly involved in this issue. My wife is an immigrant. It took 11 months to get her a visa to come here, ten more months to get her a work visa, and over four years to get her a permanent green card. It was a huge hassle. I am a US citizen and I felt that it should have been far easier for me to marry the woman I chose. But still, we did everything legally and completely by the book. When the first thing an immigrant does is illegally cross our border, he or she is then a criminal. I say we owe them nothing after that. If we want more immigrants, make it easier to immigrate, but illegals should be deported.

You are so right. Most people don't argue with a person's right to legally be here. When you break the law to be here is another story. There are also many bad effects on the economy with so many illegal immigrants in the US.
