I've looked through Parenting Magazine's Christmas gift-buying guide, and while some things made me laugh and others made me cringe, one thing I will say is that the gift ideas for hard-to-buy-for adults were fantastic. I love reading about unique gift ideas that I've never come across before! I saw a set of rocking vodka glasses, but I'd just as soon get a set of these for myself as for someone else! And the Bistro Mug Press also impressed me as well (no pun intended) - it's like a miniature coffee plunger that you can put into any mug. There were plenty of other ideas as well, from the practical to the humorous. Having said all that though, gift ideas for hard-to-buy-for adults don't necessarily have to be an 'item', per se; this is a trap that many of us fall into when thinking of what Christmas gifts to buy. Gift ideas for hard-to-buy-for adults include edible gifts, pampering and other 'services'. Why not pay for an elderly relative to get their lawn mowed or the newspaper delivered for a period of time? Why not shout your spouse to a spot of pampering at a day spa? In all honesty, more thought and consideration go into personalised gifts like these than if you'd picked something off the shelf and bought it. If you know it's something that the recipient would really benefit from or enjoy, you can do up a cute certificate or voucher (this can be as funny as you like - the funnier the better!) and present it to them on Christmas day. Merry Christmas!
