ICE on cell phone    Back to the homepage
Views: 1465 Report
If you haven't heard, it's important to program ICE on your cell phone with an emergency contact phone number listed next to it. ICE stands for In Case of an Emergency and all emergency service personnel are aware of this and if you are in an accident and are unconscious, this is a way for the hospital or paramedics to contact your loved one. Don't wait, do it now, it might save your life!

Bopper (7/29): I heard they used that system on some of the victims and wounded people in the London attacks. It really worked for some people out there. Great idea. (report)
garagesaler (7/29): That is a great idea. Going to put it on my cell phone right now! (report)
IceMan (8/5): I have it on my phone! Thanks for the idea. (report)
thealamocityguy (8/6): Heard about this last month and it's NOT a legend [checked it out] BUT it did not originate during the London crises .. someone thought of it sometime ago. Regardless, it IS a 'cool' idea [pun intended] and I've forwarded this info to everyone on my address book [something I rarely do]. (report)
Anonymous (8/9): Great idea! (report)

CaptAmerica (8/27): This is catching on... I just did a quick survey and 3 out of 5 have it on their phones. It's a great thing to do... (report)

FitzyFitzell (8/9): I don't own a cell phone. Guess my family will have to discover my death through the news! (report)
KeystoneLight (8/28): Great, now when my emergency contact calls my caller ID says ICE instead of their name. (report)
homer (12/3): How would it save my life? If the paramedic takes an extra few seconds to look at my phone and with my luck my phone would crash resulting in more time for me to get the the hospital. (report)
