Oh, so NOW they're suing? Don't misunderstand, I love the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and I think that Californication was a great album, as well as a really important point in the band's career. But they don't own the rights to the name, they didn't invent the word, and most importantly – the show just isn't trying to cash in on the “Red Hot Chili Peppers” brand in any way. I've not watched it, so I can't comment on how good it is, but I really think the Chilis need to get off their high horses and just let it go. Even if they don't win, this will still conveniently get the Red Hot Chili Peppers a lot of publicity (admittedly at the cost of a very expensive lawyer). Anyone else think it's funny how they waited until the series actually became popular? As a band who make a big thing about fighting “the system” and not caring about commercial success, the Red Hot Chili Peppers need to stay true to that, or they will start losing the respect of their fans. They've already lost a lot of mine.
