Am I the only one who finds it ironic that in a neighborhood where seeminly everyone works out, we have probably the worst gym in the city? The Gorilla on Chestnut really sucks - they never open on time in the mornings, the equipment is always dirty, there aren't enough machines, and the classes are always packed. I would pay three times what I do now for a nice Equinox in the neighborhood. This is the only gym I've ever belonged to where they don't even provide towels, and the locker rooms are a joke. If there were any other options besides this and 24-Hour in the neighborhood, those two would go under. I think there is a real opportunity for success if anyone wants to open up a nice, clean, full-service gym in the Marina or Cow Hollow! The JCC is great but it's really far if you just want a quick workout before or after work.
