What is it about this society that wants to scare people to changing their whole way of living, make them pay loads more in tax and scare them to thinking Doomsday is just around the corner... Global Warming, what a load of tosh.. if they hadn't started interfering with nature with Acts such as the 'clean air act' then the atmosphere would contain more Sulpher Dioxide, a natural coolant on the planet - watch temperatures after a big Volcanic Eruption.. in fact, during the 70's they claimed we were heading for an 'Ice Age' due to Global Cooling.. do they really think all of us are that STUPID to believe this crap or have no memory...????

I think you are too ignorant to take the facts into account. They have proven with numerous scientific experiments that the current rise in temparature (which is a new record, meaning never achieved before) is directly correlated to rise in C02 PPM in the atmosphere. All scientists agree that a rise of C02 in the atmosphere causes global warming. There is no question about that at ALL. The only debate is whether or not we are causing it. Conclusive evidence has proven that we are off the charts of the normal, natural cycle. There is no way nature could have created the ammount of C02 currently in the atmosphere. Most countries around the world are taking severe action to combat global warming. Your tainted "beliefs" vs the many countries and scientists taking action is a no brainer. They are obviously more educated and know the consequences are severe. Why don't you stop being selfish and worrying about how your little tiny life will be affected and worry about how the whole world is going to be affected. Wouldn't you rather save the human race from oblivion than sit on your ass and complain? Even if you are skeptical, wouldn't you rather play it safe than sit in your house and watch the world suffer?

A top hurricane forecaster called Al Gore "a gross alarmist" Friday for making an Oscar-winning documentary about global warming.<br>
"He's one of these guys that preaches the end of the world type of things. I think he's doing a great disservice and he doesn't know what he's talking about," Dr. William Gray said in an interview with The Associated Press at the National Hurricane Conference in New Orleans, where he delivered the closing speech.<br>
A spokeswoman said Gore was on a flight from Washington, D.C., to Nashville Friday; he did not immediately respond to Gray's comments
Gray, an emeritus professor at the atmospheric science department at Colorado State University, has long railed against the theory that heat-trapping gases generated by human activity are causing the world to warm. Over the past 24 years, Gray, 77, has become known as America's most reliable hurricane forecaster; recently, his mentee, Philip Klotzbach, has begun doing the bulk of the forecasting work.<br>
Gray's statements came the same day the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change approved a report that concludes the world will face dire consequences to food and water supplies, along with increased flooding and other dramatic weather events, unless nations adapt to climate change.<br>
Rather than global warming, Gray believes a recent uptick in strong hurricanes is part of a multi-decade trend of alternating busy and slow periods related to ocean circulation patterns. Contrary to mainstream thinking, Gray believes ocean temperatures are going to drop in the next five to 10 years.

It's all politics fueled by a self-serving media. The mindless drones that follow every word in newspapers, TV, and on blogs is amazing. Ice age, nuclear winter, bird flu, west nile virus, and even the fear of running out of oil by the year 2000 have been the scare tactics in the headlines over the years. Believe that there may be some truth; give your heart and soul over to it? Crazy. Do the research and stop trusting the media to do it for you. They're making a buck, and you're paying for it with your tax $$$.

How else are the West to stop China? Global warming is being used by the West to cripple emerging competitors like China and India. Its simply not true that temperature increases are higher than prevously recored. Temperatures in the Middle Ages were three degrees higher than today. The polar caps are melting because they are the remnants of the last ice age. They have been melting for thousands of years. CO2 only represents 0.05% of the atmosphere and mainly comes from the oceans, not cars! Basically the general public are being conned. Global warming is a great way to raise taxes and redistribute wealth. The trouble is that people are so stupid that they will believe anything. Its a shame but its always been the case.

I think I have the solution! Nasa can hire some HVAC guys to build a giant thermostat into a satellite and send it into orbit.Just don't let a woman set the controls before you send it off (if you think you've got global warming now...)
