You just bought your new iPod, took it home and only a few seconds after taking it out of the box your sticky fingers have left smudges on its shiny white back. Nice going.
Well, now you can put your own shiny custom finish on the back of you iPod, using a technique you probably learned while dozing off in physics class.
Using batteries, sandpaper, glue and industrial chemicals you can make that custom background on your iPod that will make you the envy of everyone who gives a damn.
By putting an electric current through an object submerged in a chemical bath, along with a strip of metal called an anode, you wait as the current turns the anode into metal ions by stripping electrons off of it.
The electrons, stay with me here we will get to the iPod part, travel through the bath and eventually rejoin the electrons, turning into metal.
The metal from the anode coats a piece of electro-plated copper a shiny finish, perfect for you iPod.
Now all you need is a plating solution to make the metal stick to the back of you ipod. Use a stamp on the metal to create a design of your choice for the iPod.
