Sure, we all have to deal with it every day but today was particularly bad. We've been pressured to get a special mag. edition, and my boss got slammed this morning from the high ups. She was in tears. I felt awful as she's awesome, organized and passionate about the business. She got yelled at by her boss about another project that she didn't drop the ball on. I felt awful for her. We've been working our asses off for the last four weeks to get this issue out. No need for the boss to yell at her.

Your boss was crying in the office in front of you (a subordinate)? Sounds like a great leader/boss!!! You think Anne Mulcahy or Meg Whitman cry at the office?

This is the probelm with women in the work place. "There is no crying in baseball!" Cry and home, check you emotions at the curb and focus on the facts of the day. Yelling...if I cried everytime a superior was upset I wouldnt get anything done. Crying = "I am maxed out on work load and am cracking". If you dont cry at work you will have her job in a year.

she is awesome because she's passionate about what she does. We're co- managing editors. A good boss/mentor is someone who makes you want to work harder and be better. She does that for me because she throws herself in 110% to everything she does. Sometimes when you're bold and take chances, it can hurt.

guinness: Whoa, how about backing off a little with the over generalization "this is the problem with women in the workplace". I work with plenty of women with nerves of steel. I've seen some guys shed a tear or two at work.

There is no "problem with women in the workplace" there is no problem with any woman anywhere. Women rule!!!

I am absolutely not a feminist, however, Guinness' asinine comments clearly exemplify his inability to look past his penis to recognize that the problem doesn't have anything to do with women as he so eloquently states, but that it has to do with societal role changes. It's backwards thinking like that that really gets me "riled" up Guiness. God, this is the problem with men...
