Everyone ought to get an SUV or at least some type of excessive 4wd truck. Me Im thinking about a old greyhound bus, that way I can be certain to burn the most fuel possible during my day-to-day travel, plus id be super cool sitting up high , I could haul most anything. Allthough it isnt the reason prices are high, it comforting to know my indulgent dollars are going into the Mid-East countries, where it does the world the most good i could ever imagine...

What about us poor farmers who live in rural Upstate New York and have no choice but to drive a four-wheel drive vehicle so we can maintain our livelihoods, not to mention make it through the unbearable snow just to get to the grocery store? Actually now that I think of it, maybe I should just move to a warmer climate so I can drive a rollerskate of a hybrid car. Man I hate Upstate winters!!! Anyone know of a good job for me in...say...Southern California?

I'm glad those yahoos (note that's not a yoohoo) buy those idiotic chariots. First they spend all the money to buy those SUVs (strike 1)knowing that they will burn more gas (strike 2)...and now, the resale market on those SUVs is plummeting (strike 3)!
Actually, these bozos were OUT before they ever stepped up to the plate.
Capitalism wins again! Geez I love this country!

GAWD it drives me crazy to hear Americans complaining about SUV owners. If you actually think SUV's are responsible for gas prices, well I have some ocean front property here in Arizona I would like to sell you.

I agree with Dragon, you are all idiots who follow the leader. SUV's have NOTHING to do with the price of gas, fool. I have an SUV and a car, big deal. I still drive when I need to, not just to drive around looking at scenery. I heard a woman complaining about the price the other day, said she went to pick up her mother, do some shopping at the mall, then went to the west side, for no apparent reason, then complained because her tank was empty again. STAY HOME, walk, or SHUTUP! What about pickup trucks, vans, 8 cylinder cars, etc? We drive them because we can AFFORD them, get off our backs, PLEASE!

Not only do they take up a lot of gas, they are also ten times bigger then the normal automobile. This causes accidents to be much more severe.

Not if your the one in the SUV Iceman. I for one will never drive a little puddle jumper the big rigs just run over top of. Not just to save a couple bucks in gas anyway. If my family and I go on a long trip, I will take my SUV any day over my car. The fact is Iceman, the highways are dangerous places, you are ten times better off in a larger vehicle, then a small car, regardless how many SUV's are on the road.
