College Football National Champion    Back to the homepage
Views: 833 Report
Okay, enough with the criticizing of the BCS. Seriously. The BCS was borne out of a desire to have a more exact way to choose a college football national champion. And what better way to do that then through a computer system – that also calculates in human fallibility. This year more than ever, the BCS is necessary for choosing a college football national champion. So how about some props? How about some thanks, some appreciation? Is the BCS system for choosing a college football national champion perfect? Of course not. But nothing is or would be. You think a playoff system would be perfect? Is that what’s best for college football, or is it what’s best for your degenerate gambling habits? And who exactly would you let into your perfect playoff pool? The top 8 teams? Top 12? How about the top 16? And how exactly do you determine who the top 16 are? How do you rectify the complaints of number 17? You have to somehow prove that they’re not as good as number 16. You’d probably use a poll. One oddly reminiscent of the BCS.
