Ex-Girlfriends    Back to the homepage

Now, I don't mean in principle, just in practice. I had the enjoyable conversation last night of an ex calling me to "check-in." What does check-in mean? It means small talk for five minutes before telling me she met someone new. The pre-qual being "I just want to be open blah blah blah" but is this really necessary? I would much prefer closed and quiet. What's worse, is after telling me she went on to more small talk. As if it wasn't bad enough to hear about her new great boyfriend, I had to hear about all the boring intricacies of work, her friends and her house. By minute 20 I was ready to dislocate my shoulder, if only for a good excuse to get off the phone...

AlamoKid (10/12): Refreshing [in a way] that gals do the same thing as guys [can't let go]. Learned that the best and ONLY way to go forward is to LET GO of the past. She sounded lonely and desperate and believe me SFRunner, you DO NOT need anyone like that in life. (report)
KP86 (10/13): My ex's all seem to get restraining orders. I'm always like, "Hey, nice to see you!" and they're usually pulling out their pepper spray and telling me to stay back ninety feet. How the heck can you catch up with someone and reminisce about old times from ninety feet? It's awkward. (report)
Anonymous (10/20): If she was so happy with the new guy there would be no need to call and tell you about it. Chicks can be bitter and spiteful. I wouldn't let it bother you. Next time she calls tell her your to busy with your new girlfriend and her girlfriend. (report)
Bopper (11/5): This is an attempt to make you feel like shit! This shows some immaturity on her part and i agree, it sucks to go through that conversation! just hook up with one of her friends to get back at her!!!! (kidding....kind of) (report)
Anonymous (7/16): What are you doing listing to her for 20minets, shes an x an you can never go back there with out resentment anyway. So tell her that you love to chat but your date is in the bathroom and get of the phone! (report)
Bella (1/29): This happened to me last week. Ex from college emails to "say hello" and inform me that he is now engaged. Honestly, am I expected to respond? Would Miss Manners reprimand me for not offering my congrats and buying them a set of napkin rings? Please... (report)
