Eating Out Tips—How To Party Without Overindulging    Back to the homepage

As I was perusing my current issue of Weight Watchers Magazine, I was pleased to see a great little article filled with eating out tips. In the November/December 2007 issue, Weight Watchers tackles the big question of how to overcome social eating engagements and not look like a total party pooper. The eating out tips that they suggest are a great way to prepare yourself before you go out for business or pleasure. I really liked the suggestion of what to order while everyone else orders cocktails. For a festive touch, the eating out tips suggested ordering a cranberry juice with seltzer or a virgin bloody Mary—just 1 point in value and you even get to count it as a serving of veggies! How cool is that?! Of course, the standard suggestion of ordering fish for your main course was mentioned, but that is always a safe option when it comes to dieting. Weight Watchers concluded their eating out tips with the idea of putting down your fork in between bites. This makes sense, as sometimes it takes time for your stomach and brain to catch up to each other. All in all, I thought it was a great reminder of how to preplan for those festive occasions.
