I applied for a job on a lark, got an interview and got an offer the next day for $20K more than I'm making now. Then they tell me I have to take a drug test, despite no mention of this in the background check document I had to sign and no 'drug-free workplace' notices on their website or in their job posting. I'm a very occasional smoker, but that stuff stays in your system for up to a month. I could snort 8 lines of coke and be clean 2 days later. How fair is that?!

Why is there an assumption that the staff takes drugs? Is Tobacco one of the drugs they test for? I am appalled, tobacco is still a legal drug. (not a healthy drug, but it is still your right to smoke.) Is there some history in your job area that we do not know about? Are you are pharmacist or an air traffic controller? but you are right cuz i can DRINK a couple of cokes and be clean in a matter of hours. ha. On the other hand, i am addicted to Commit and probably could never pass a tobacco drug test even though i do not smoke. Your company should lighten up.
