I had the worst week ever. We didn't get to go home for Christmas because of a snow storm, so we headed out New Years Eve back home to see my family and have Christmas and celebrate New Year's. However, on the way there, my sister called to tell me that my Grandfather who was 94 had just passed away. He was such a great man and I will miss him dearly. So I spent the next several day crying and comforting my Grandma. We buried him yesterday and we finally made it home last night. I was so down and just wanted to hide from the world but the minute I stepped out of the car, my two spoiled rotten Border Collies met me with an enthusiasm and joy that immediately changed my mood. They had been left for more days than originally intended with a neighbor caring for them and they didn't care what mood I was in or how I looked they were just really happy to see me and spent the rest of the night at my side. It's amazing how animals offer us so much without ever saying a word.
