The original mouthy conservative mouthed no position at all! Dissension is an important part of democracy ( I know because that is how my generation eventually got the Viet Nam war stopped.)
You can't pretend to support a leader when he is making enormous mistakes, and people are suffering and dying for those mistakes.

Sorry I ruffled your feathers, but I am sick of people saying that Bush bashing is unpatriotic because we are at war. They said exactly the same things about us in the 1960's and they were wrong and we were right. And we are right this time. And that line about supporting Clinton is ridiculous. The conservatives made his blowjob under the desk sound like high treason, when all it was was some fun with a fat, cute, young lady. But thousands of people have died and many, many more thousands are suffering for Bush going to war in the Mideast with insufficient justification. He is, in my opinion, a war criminal and he belongs in a cell for it. I am a patriotic liberal, I love my country, and I will not be shut up because someone thinks that what I say is unpatriotic. By the way, the original post concerned what to do about North Korea. The idiocy that Bush has exhibited in the Mideast has completely eliminated the possibility that he could make a decent decision about Korea.

(Continued...) This situation reminds me of the following: There is a true story of a battleship cruising the Atlantic off the northern coast of Maine one stormy evening. The commander of the battleship was notified. "Sir, there's a light ahead. Oncoming vessel."
"Signal oncoming vessel, 'Change your course ten degrees to the west.'" The message was sent, but a light flashed back, "Change your course ten degrees to the east." The commander barked, "Signal again, 'Change your course ten degrees to the west. I am an admiral.'" The light flashed back. "Change your course ten degrees to the east. I'm a seaman third class."
By this time the admiral was incensed as he thundered, "Signal again. 'Change your course ten degrees to the west. I am a battleship.'" And the message came back, "Change your course ten degrees to the east. I am a lighthouse!" Sometimes we act like admirals. We're the boss. We're the one in charge. And our "lighthouse" is saying, "Change your course." We need to change our course. A fool is someone who keeps doing the same things, expecting different results.

I guess you would call me a conservative in most areas. I do believe we need to clean out from around our own front door before we run off to every nook and corner to fix everyone else. We pretend to care for those 'poor people and the women and children' while we kill our own babies by the millions. Somehting is very wrong here! War has always been the poor mans job while the rich and powerful increase. We lose our husbands, fathers, sons and daughters and get lip-service, a medal and a patriotic pat on the head. Don't get me wrong, I love my land, but I love and honor God above anything. When we leave Him out and dishonor His word, we are in for a fall. We can't force a way of life on a nation that doesn't want it. We have enough messes of our own to deal with. Of course, oil has nothing to do with this war, now does it?!

From the original mouthy conservative!! Hey I like your post!! My position is that we elect leaders and we should let them lead. We choose them based on certain human qualities. They will do amazing things for our counrty and the world and they will also make mistakes. We should questions them, challenge them and hold them accountable. The likes of Cindy Sheehan is not that way this happens, neither is Kerry bashing Bush every chance he gets. It just makes the bad guys feel like they are winning our hearts and minds when they see dissention like this. Oh by the way…I would have backed Clinton the same way. OK that is as short and as simple as I can make it.
PS this and the original post are intended to be good natured debate, just in case you have construed it otherwise

Hey dumb-anonymous: occaeco is Latin:
occasio : favorable moment, opportunity.
occasus : setting (of the sun, etc)/ the west / fall, destruction.
occatio : harrowing.
occido : occidi : occasum : to fall, fall down, (for the sun) to set

occaeco -are [to make blind , to blind, to darken; to conceal, make invisible, to make dull or numb]. That's all I got to say. As far as a 15 year old having no credibility that is debatable clearly he knew what occaeco meant. It isn't a word that is prevalent in our society.
