When I get home with a pocket full of coins from change throughout the day I really don't feel like spending the time emptying my pockets and storing these coins. Then I have to count and roll the coins to deposit them into my account. Or take them to a coind counter and pay 10% to have them counted. When you consider it now cost more to produce a penny than they are worth, why do we even use them. Pennys are so worthless little kids don't even pick them up anymore. In the 1940s a kid could pick up enough pennies in a week to have a bottle of pop or some peanuts.
I propose that we just stop using coins. I have been refusing change for about two weeks now. Some of the things I have learned is to shop where the items are in even dollar amounts. Or buy products that are near a round dollar amount. I have quickly realized that coins cost you more to have and process than they are worth. If enough of us do this the government will stop making them. This would result in a HUGE tax savings.
