The worst car of 2007, according to the tests done by Car and Driver every year, is the Chevrolet Aveo LT. The Chevrolet Aveo LT had the lowest performance on acceleration, street starts and quarter-mile speed.
The Chevrolet Aveo LT took almost eleven seconds in the acceleration test, a test in which cars are clocked as they accelerate from a stand still to sixty miles per hour. On the street start test, the Chevrolet Aveo LT took over eleven seconds. The street start test is a test in which cars are clocked as they accelerate from five miles per hour to sixty miles per hour. The Chevrolet Aveo LT also performed abysmally at quarter mile. It took this car over eighteen seconds to travel a quarter mile—even as it was driving seventy six miles per hour.
All around, it was a bad year for Chevrolet. The Chevrolet Suburban was one of the three cars with the lowest gas mileage (only getting ten miles per gallon)—tied with the Ferrari 599GTB Fiorano and the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG.
Other cars that performed poorly included the Jeep Patriot Sport 4x4, the Lexus GX470 and the Lotus Exige S.
