Cstraw – That’s great that you’ve donated! What color shoes? Ronc99 – The Challenge is yours – if you want to give the $ directly to someone who was laid off due to Katrina, great, or contribute to an affected local police or fire department, great. Be creative, have some fun, and help those who are less fortunate.

maybe...I've already donated money to the Hurricane Relief fund. A new pair of fall shoes might come in handy (wink. wink).

When does it stop? I know the relief effort is important, but what about those that are getting pink slips now after the disaster, and are told, this relief is only for evacuees. There is no money coming into all the communities, nothing. No taxes, no sales, nothing. But if they ask for aid, they are told they cannot have it. But must we support these people for a year, two years, three years? When will it be enough? I think I know the answer, NEVER! Gave them all $2000.00 debit cards, some of them have never seen that kind of money. It's rediculous. Think of how mant soup kitchens could have been opened, to feed them WHILE THEY CLEAN UP and rebuild THEMSELVES! We should not have to take complete responsibility for them, yes in the beginning, but as support, not carry them.
