Oprah definitely has the O factor, and Obama might just land in the White House with her help. I'm not sure that American voters are entirely supportive of Oprah and Obama, but really it comes down to a lesser of two evils. Would the American public prefer a woman President, or a non-Caucasian President? We all know how screwy our government elections are (remember how GW got into office?), but this celebrity thing (especially the O Factor) brings up a whole new set of issues for me. We're voting for Presidential candidates based on popularity now? Obviously, the benefit of celebrity endorsed campaigns is increased awareness of a candidate's views, but it really comes down to just smart marketing. And since American voters have historically been lazy participates in elections, it leaves the celebrity factor wide open. Or course, the alternative is to continue this joke of an election process that is repeatedly compromised by special interest parties. Now I'm not saying Obama would be a poor President (hell, anyone is better than GW), but I'm skeptical of his lack of political experience. Now if it strictly comes down to a popularity contest, I'd bet on Oprah and Obama. Politically, I'm leaning toward Hillary, but she's only got good 'ol Bab's to support her campaign....Guess that means Oprah and Obama are headed for the White House.
